Travel Jinni homepage — Collect Memories, Not Payments

The product

Travel Jinni is a payments product built for group travellers — it exists to make collecting or contributing to group trip funds "easy and stress-free," replacing spreadsheets, gentle reminders, and delayed payments with a single seamless flow. The promise, in the product's own words: "Collect Memories, Not Payments."

Group trip payment collection Consumer fintech Remote UK product team

Context

Bimbi Philips Limited (Essex, UK) builds Travel Jinni. I worked remotely from Lagos, starting as Payments Product Owner (Jul 2021 – Dec 2022) before being promoted to Product Manager – Digital (Dec 2022 – Dec 2024), where I took on a second product line alongside payments.

My contribution to payments

I owned the end-to-end payments roadmap and backlog, and led the company's first payment API integration from discovery through go-live — the technical foundation behind Travel Jinni's core promise of collecting group trip payments without the back-and-forth.

What I did

01
Payments discovery

Scoped the company's first payment integration from the ground up, end to end.

02
Roadmap ownership

Defined and maintained the payments roadmap and backlog as sole product owner.

03
Agile delivery

Introduced sprint ceremonies and a clear Definition of Done across the team.

04
Broader ownership

Promoted to Digital PM — added a second product line and led a go-to-market launch.

Led the company's first payment API integration from discovery through go-live
Directly increased transaction acceptance rates and expanded revenue streams
Improved overall delivery efficiency by 40% through structured Agile implementation
Led a subsequent product launch that grew market awareness by 25% and cut delivery cycle time by 20%
Promoted from Payments Product Owner to Digital Product Manager within 18 months
